Eaton is a single group that conducts 42 meetings a week, each morning, afternoon and evening according to the schedule found online and welcome to all.
The San Carlos Peninsula Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous was started by Lynn and Jim L. and Patrick W. on January 1st, 1986. The first meeting was chaired by Gary H. on the same evening. Lynn, Jim and Patrick were runners and nonsmokers and were looking for a space to start an AA meeting and found the Roof Top Office of the Laurel Theatre in San Carlos, Ca., which had been vacant for a few years. Hundreds of sober members remember this site and many were happy that it was a nonsmoking, 1 hour meeting. Evening meetings were held at first and soon after, afternoon meetings were added to the schedule. AA's shared this wonderful space with a few pigeons and a few creepy crawlers. We were all greeted with a steep and long stairway which led to a small meeting room with old couches and a few donated folding chairs, restroom and kitchen. We lasted approximately 4 years at this location and thought is was time to move as did the Police and Fire Departments. So, in early 1990 Jim & Lynn L. helped pay for the first and last month’s rent at our present 1133 Eaton Ave location, just a short distance South of the old Theater. The Theatre was torn down in 1999 and is now an apartment/small business building. Great Memories!
